Three Sisters!

Sister Baham is back for a few weeks. That is exciting!!!
I gave a talk in church on Sunday and sang with the youth.

I love Sister Alexander. She is from all over, but most recently Virginia. She is an army brat. She has been out 6 weeks longer than I have. She also sings some, so the three of us will sing all the time!!!!! Yay!!!

I cant believe June is over!!! It flew by!

We saw a bug that was a big as my hand. It was gross!!! And scary!!!

We are seeing miracles all the time. We met this guy who has been less active for years, and we talked to him about his concerns. We will hopefully begin working with him.

We were trying to contact potential investigators and tried this door. The first time it wasn't a good time. The second time no one was home. The third time the lady that lives there told us to come in the apartment. She told us that she had a religion, but that she loved what we did and she could tell that we had good spirits! She said she could see the light of CHRIST in us! It was so cool. She was the sweetest lady and said we could come back!!!

Then there is this other guy who we offered to help. He rejected the help but said that he wanted to know more about what we do as missionaries. He is also a film producer! So that was pretty cool!!!

There are great things happening here. No we aren't actively teaching but we are trying!!! Maybe soon!!!!

What is the fourth of July plan? Send me pictures and tell me stories about your fun!!!! I always loved the fourth! It will be very different as a missionary, but still so fun!!! I am excited!!!

I hope you all have great weeks!!! I love you all so much! Be safe and keep us in your prayers!!!

Read the Ensign talk in the June issue titled "That we may rejoice together". Missionaries need you to do the finding. Its your job, not ours. So do it!

Read your scriptures and pray often! Go to the temple too!!!! It is the best place you can be!

 I love you all,

Sister Yates!

I didn't move!

I am still in the same place. Sister Baham was transferred to mesa on a bike :( We did not see that one coming!!! I am no longer a Sister Training Leader. President Sweeney wants me and my new companion, Sister Alexander, to focus on this ward. Wish us luck! But yeah, not training and not a Sister Training Leader. I'm gonna miss being an sister training leader It was so fun!!! Maybe in a few transfers though.
I have been in this ward for my 6 month mark my 9 month mark and will hit my year here. That is a long time! I love it here!!! The members are so nice!

We saw a javalina the other day!!! They are gross and mean!!! Thankfully we were in our car. They are kind of like wild boar. They smell so bad, and are SO UGLY!!!
Everyone! Get The Power of Everyday Missionaries and read it! I am almost done reading it and it is so good! Guess what! As members of the church it is your job to find people for the missionaries to teach and the missionaries job to teach!!! Don't make the missionaries in your area do all the work!!! You all know people who are not members of the church!! If they don't live near you send a referral! Just do something! The work isn't going to really start hastening until the members and missionaries are really working together. The sooner the work moves the sooner the Lord comes. Do as the Apostles have asked and invite a nonmember quarterly!!! We have a statistic here that we are sharing with members, 1 of 10 investigators that missionaries find will be baptized.  If the member does the finding than that changes to 4 of 10. With that in mind, if you ask 4 people a year to learn more (as asked by our leaders) 1 will say yes. okay so there are 15 million members. From the statistic we have we learn that if even just some of the members would do this we could have 1 million new members next year. DO YOUR PART!!!!
Things are going well here. It is so hot! I sweat so much! It is so gross!!! I am a little bit more tan, but noting too crazy! I haven't been burned because I use spf 100. Best stuff ever!
The water is still gross, but as my dear friend in thailand pointed out to me I really shouldn't complain! At least in most places here we can drink the water!!!
I better get running!!! I love you all so much! The Church is still true! If everything else in the world falls apart, at least we are blessed to know the true gospel of Jesus Christ!!!
Love ya!

Only one year left!

Hello Family and Friends!!!!

Well here I am! This week has been kind of lame because I've been sick again!!!!! Yes, I get sick a lot, but not this much in one season!!! This whole bad immune system thing stinks!!! Oh well, at least we are coming out of the sick season. When I went to the Dr last week she informed me that I will have allergy issues for the next 364 day of my life. So if you ever feel like adding to the Bresia allergy meds donation I wont deny you! Claritin is expensive!!

Yesterday was my "one year left" mark (as of right now). Crazy!!!!

If you want to send me stuff you can totally send it straight to me my apartment # is 1013! I get it much faster when you do that.

I love driving. Well, kind of. I am getting more comfortable doing it. I also LOVE the car I drive. Its a 2013 Toyota Corolla!!! It drives like Dad's car! Its super nice and new! Only 1,600ish miles! So nice! I will have a picture of it soon!!

Sorry this email is so jumpy, but that's me for ya!

I love hearing about how everyone is doing! I don't hear a whole lot about people, but I love what I do hear!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT!!!!!

Well I've lost weight. Not a whole lot, but I'm closer to where I was when I came out! And my Dr said that the amount I have gained really isn't bad considering what she has seen...

I have another Dr appointment today, this time with an OB/GYN.  We will decide what we will do for the rest of my mission to keep the problem under control. I really hope they just keep me on the Lupron though! It seems to work pretty well.

I'm not really sure what else so say. I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying life. I know I am.

I am in a beautiful part of the country, its January and everyday is above 70 degrees. There are cacti everywhere and the coolest trees! The rock gardens are growing on me, I still prefer grass, but the lawn of rocks is fun! The people here are wonderful. They are horrible drivers, but so kind, for the most part.

A news channel out here did a special on the Gilbert temple. It was very well done and that temple is beautiful and huge!!!  I am excited to go to it! you should all look up pictures and videos of it! So nice!

I hope you are all well and happy. I hope school is going well for all of you in school! I hope all of you who are waiting to hear from colleges find out soon and that it is good news! Keep me posted!

To any that have exciting news or cool plans let me know about it! I know several are expecting babies soon or preparing to get married!!! You better send me pictures and announcements!!!!

Please keep me posted in your lives! Tell me about spring break plans or fun things you are doing! I love stories!!! And I love all of you!!

This is the best time of life. No this is not easy. No its not always fun, but it is always rewarding. Knowing that I am helping people is the best feeling. Missions are great. to anyone thinking about going, DO IT!! Nothing will help you grow more, and not just spiritual growth! Yes that is a big one, but you grow as a person! You become more of an adult! Like now, I do the dishes. None of the other sisters I live with do, but I can't stand when there are dishes in the sink. There are several other things that have changed about me! I feel all weird and grown up now, but it is so cool!

I will get going . I love you all! Be safe and happy! Life is to short, live happy!!

Love,

Sister Bresia Yates

In the field

I made it! I know its Wednesday, but since I didn't have a p-day, they gave us Wednesday, It should be Monday next week, but I don't know yet. You'll find out then!

My flight down here went great. I sat next to another elder so not much sharing of the gospel there, but he was a goofy kid! When we got off the plane, Grandpa David was right there to greet me. It was nice to see him and Grammy D. My mission president and his wife are the best! I love them. The first day was a blur, because I was sooo tired!! But it was great.
My companion is Sister Jones from Texas. She is super cool, and I think we will get along really well. The area I'm in is in the mountains, its called Show Low! It is much cooler up here than in the valley! Its super nice!! Part of our area covers some Apache Indian Reservations, so I will spend some time there. Don't worry we go with an escort for safety! Our area is an area where we will mostly work on reactivation, which is awesome! It is so beautiful up here!!! Its very green and open!
Yesterday I saw Elder Molinaro at the transfer meeting along with several of the elders and sisters in my first district and zone!! Including my first companion Sister Andrus!
Right now I am not in a biking area, but maybe next transfer... we will see. We are actually in a truck right now because most of the roads are unpaved. I love it. I also don't have to  drive right now either!!! So life is pretty much great. We will walk a lot, but I love walking!
Oh so here is my address, if anyone wants to send packages or letters!!!
6265N. 82nd Street
Scottsdale,AZ 85250
Feel free to write when ever!
Also feel free to email me whenever! and sand me pictures! I miss seeing my cousins, and I know they are having adventures in GA, so pictures of them would be great! Especially the babies!!! I know they are changing a lot!!
Apparently the members feed us like every night! That will be great! I'll have to be careful NOT to gain weight, but I did well with that in the MTC and that food was super good!! I think I should be ok!
I can't believe I am actually in the field! Its the best! It is super hot in the valley right now, but thankfully I am up in the cooler mountains. I hope that I am here only for this transfer though and then next transfer I hope I'm in the valley, where it will be cooled down, but not cold. I guess it gets super cold in the mountains, and you all know how I feel about the cold!!!! If I don't move to the valley next transfer then mom and dad please send all of my warm clothes!!! Because I will need them!!!
I hope all is well at home, wherever home maybe. Know that I am well, and happy. I know this is where I am suppose to be. Even though this is hard and only going to get harder, I know I can do it because I have Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost holding me up... and because I know I have all of you supporting me every step of the way!
You are all the best I hope to hear from some of you soon! Be safe! Have faith, and pray always.
I know that sometimes/all the time it is hard to see where we need to go, but trust Heavenly Father, He has everything figured out. If you don't believe me ask Him, and read the Book of Mormon. Ether 12 is a great faith chapter. Rely on the Lord, He knows exactly how you feel. The Atonement was done so that we can repent and be forgiven of our sins, but it was also done so Heavenly Father would know exactly how we need to be comforted. Christ knows every pain, every sadness, every sickness we have ever had. Let Him heal you! He is the best Doctor ever! Don't be afraid to go to our Father in Heaven with questions, concerns, fears, transgressions, or anything. He loves us WAY more than we can comprehend, He wants us to know Him and to return to live with Him...
I know that this is the one true church on the face of the Earth. I know this is the same church Christ organized while he was on the Earth. I know that through Joseph Smith, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, reorganize it on the Earth. I know we have a Father in Heaven who knows us and loves us. I know that because He loves us, He sent His son Jesus Christ to Atone for our sins, and to die so that we could live again. I know that my Redeemer lives! I know that the Holy Ghost is our companion as long as we are worthy to have Him with us. I know we have a Prophet today, who leads us under the direction of Heavenly Father. This is the true church. The Book of Mormon is a true and correct book, that can help you, if you allow it to!
I love you all so much and say these things in the name of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, Amen.

I love you all so much!
Love,
